James T. Allen, II

Director of Instrumental Music

Mr. Allen is a 1998 graduate of the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville. Before coming to Roland, Mr. Allen held teaching positions with the Okemah and Holdenville School Districts. A graduate of Jay High School (OK), Mr. Allen was a 3 year member of the Oklahoma All-State Band and a recipient of the John Philip Sousa Award. During his time at the University, he was a member of the Razorback Marching Band (Section Leader), Hogwild Basketball Band, Wind Symphony (Principal Euphonium), and the Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble. Mr. Allen was also a member of the University of Arkansas Tuba-Euphonium Quartet, which after placing 1st at district and regional competitions, placed 2nd runner-up at the MTNA National Chamber Music Competition in Kansas City, MO. Students under Mr. Allen’s tutelage have consistently recieved superior ratings for solo and ensemble performances at the state and district level. Bands under Mr. Allen’s baton have recieved Superior and Excellent ratings at various contests at the district and state level as well. Mr. Allen is a judge for the Oklahoma Music Adjudicators Association and is a Faculty member for the University of Arkansas Summer Music Camps. Mr. Allen’s professional affiliations include: Oklahoma Music Educators Association, Oklahoma Bandmasters Association, International Association for Jazz Education, and Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity of America.

Mrs. Amy Allen
Director of Vocal Music
Associate Director of Bands

Mrs. Allen is a 1995 graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, with an emphasis on instrumental and vocal music. Mrs. Allen has been teaching for 11 years, she has taught at Greenland public schools in Arkansas, Okemah public schools in Oklahoma, and now resides as an associate band director as well as director of vocal music for Roland public schools. Under her direction her bands have received numerous superior ratings at the district and state level, and has been awarded the Outstanding achievement award from the OSSAA twice while teaching at Okemah. Mrs. Allen’s professional affiliations include: Tau Beta Sigma, Sigma Alpha Iota, Oklahoma Bandmasters Association, Oklahoma Music Educators Association, and Oklahoma Choral Directors Association.
